Privacy

Your screenshots never leave your Mac.

Redaktr is built around a simple privacy boundary: screenshots, OCR text, matched sensitive text, and cleaned exports stay local unless you choose to share or save them yourself.

What stays local

Images

Imported screenshots, clipboard images, captures, and watched-folder images are processed on your Mac.

Recognized text

OCR text and matched sensitive strings are used for local review and are not uploaded to Redaktr servers.

Cleaned output

Redaktr exports a separate flattened copy when you ask it to. The original image is not modified.

What Redaktr does not collect

  • No screenshot uploads.
  • No account required for the trial.
  • No analytics or telemetry.
  • No storage of source images, OCR text, matched sensitive text, clipboard image data, or cleaned exports for commerce.
  • No monitoring of ChatGPT, Claude, Slack, email, support tools, or browsers.

Network use

The Mac app uses network access only for license checks, checkout links, update checks, and app updates. Screenshot detection and redaction do not use a cloud OCR, cloud AI, or server-side screenshot processing pipeline.

Safe-share history

Safe-share history is metadata only: timestamp, source type, action, finding counts, policy source or preset when available, and optional output path when you choose a file. It does not store images, OCR text, matched secrets, license keys, or billing data.
