Support workflows

Redact screenshots before they enter a support ticket.

Support and success teams move quickly. A customer screenshot can include names, email addresses, account IDs, billing details, tokens, faces, QR codes, or private internal notes. Redaktr gives Mac users a local review step before screenshots go into tickets, Slack, email, docs, or AI tools.

Why support screenshots are risky

Customer data

Names, emails, account IDs, plan details, payment snippets, and private profile data often sit in sidebars and tables.

Internal context

Support tools can show team notes, escalation labels, private tags, ticket IDs, customer health markers, and internal comments.

Technical secrets

Debug sessions and customer logs may expose URL tokens, bearer tokens, API keys, webhook secrets, or IP addresses.

A practical support redaction workflow

  • Capture or import the screenshot on your Mac.
  • Let Redaktr scan locally for PII, customer data, secrets, faces, QR codes, and policy terms.
  • Review findings marked Redact, Check, or Visible.
  • Add manual boxes for customer-specific details the detector cannot know.
  • Export a flattened, metadata-stripped clean copy for the ticket or internal thread.

Team policy terms

Support teams often have private words that no general detector will know: customer names, domains, project codenames, internal labels, account prefixes, or incident names. Redaktr lets you configure custom terms, regexes, allowlists, and local .redaktrpolicy files for repeatable screenshot review.

No ticket-system monitoring

Redaktr does not monitor Zendesk, Intercom, Help Scout, Linear, Slack, Gmail, or browser tabs. It protects the screenshot or image before you attach, paste, or upload it.

Support screenshot checklist

  • Check customer identifiers in sidebars, breadcrumbs, URLs, tables, and headers.
  • Look for internal notes, escalation labels, health scores, private tags, and issue owner names.
  • Redact API tokens, session IDs, account IDs, IP addresses, QR codes, and log snippets.
  • Export a clean copy before attaching the screenshot to a customer ticket or internal Slack thread.
